Back from Disneyland Part II

Sunday morning we get moving quickly to get out of Circus Circus. We are trucking along pretty nicely when Zachary decides he's done and no longer wants to go to Disneyland. He starts fussing pretty loudly and is really quite miserable. We stop in Baker California to let him run around. We get back on the road about thirty minutes later and he falls asleep somewhere past the California Inspection station. We sleeps all the way to our hotel.

After getting lost for a short while, long story and yes it does involve Don's stubbornest, we arrive at our hotel. We stayed in the Disney Paradise Pier hotel. We arrive about one hour before check in but I run in to see if we could check in early. We were told yes but then were told that no rooms would be available until 3. We unloaded the car and left the luggage with the bell hop. The kids went into the video room which was really cute. The wall was painted to look like the beach and they had a big sand castle which the television sat in. The hour went by quickly and up to our room we went. After checking out the room and getting our stuff settle we headed the the disney outlet store. I was not very impressed with what they had but we did manage to find a few little things to keep the boys excited until the next day.

Meanwhile Nathan is having a fit because we are not heading to Disneyland. I try explaining that we will be going the next day but he wants to go NOW. Hence the reason he is not in the above pictures. The pictures show the surfing Goofy that is in the lobby of our hotel.

Back to the hotel we go and we take the kids swimming. The pool was nothing special but the kids really liked the slide. The really liked that they could do the slide themselves. We swam for about one and a half hours.

Now we decide to go to downtown disney. We still had not made up our minds as to the character dinner we had booked. The more I thought about it the more I did not want to spend almost $150 for our family to eat there. We looked around the shops in downtown disney and looked at some of the restaurants. The waits and prices there were long and pricey. We ended up eating at the PCH Grill in our hotel. Not a cheap meal but not too pricey.

After dinner we headed back to our room for the night. Stay tuned tomorrow for our first day at Disneyland.

Back from Disneyland

Nathan and Noah with their cousin Iggy.

There is no way I can cover everything in one post so I'm breaking posts down by day. Follow along on our journey if you'd like.

Saturday morning we head to pick up the rental van. If you've ever seen the Seinfield episode when Jerry has a car reservation but is told they are all out of the car he reserved you'll find the humor in our situation. Although we reserved a minivan they were out when went to pick up the van so they upgraded us to an SUV. I was a little worried at first about getting our three huge car seats in the suv but it all worked out. Btw we did get the suv for the same price as the minivan. Plus we scored a military discount on top of the price.

We head for the house to load the suv. I then began to worry that the cost of fuel was going to kill us but overall the suv got really good gas mileage. Anyway we were on the road by 11:30 am, only 30 minutes later than our planned start time.

We made pretty good time before kids started to fuss. Nathan got car sick around Nephi. Zachary's shoe, which is a funny story, had started to fall apart the night before. Don swore it would be okay for the trip but I packed the back up pair just in case. When we stopped in Scipio the whole bottom of his shoe fell off. Score another victory for me.

We had lunch at a little mom and pop resturant in Fillmore. Sadly I did not catch the name but it was the best food we ate on the whole trip.

We pulled into Vegas aroun 6pm and drove to my sister's house to visit for awhile. My little nephew Iggy is a cute little thing. After we drove Andrew and Tami nuts with the kids being wild we headed to Circus Circus where we were spending the night. It was horrible. I booked a manor room and was scared the whole time. The rooms was awful and I did not sleep at all.

More to come later.

Disneyland thus far...

Well the 3 wild and crazy boys have indeed arrived in Disneyland. Can you see their smiles?!

Its looks like they are having so much fun! I wish I could have gone. But alas the animals would have to fend for themselves. :)
They rode my favorite ride and Nathan was the only one who enjoyed it. Zach and Noah thought it to be too scary. They met their hero, Buzz Lightyear, and were all talking about it most of the day.

2/20/09

This is my last post before leaving for Disneyland. We are all packed and ready to go. The weather is suppose to be nice at Disneyland so I am very happy. The kids are over excited and hopefully they will sleep tonight. We are driving down and plan on staying in Vegas on Saturday night. Hopefully we can meet up with my sister, her husband, and our cute little new nephew Saturday night or Sunday morning. I hope the kids will like the circus acts at Circus Circus. Sunday we plan on arriving at our hotel near Disneyland, okay we are staying at a disney hotel and I hope it will be fun. Depending on the time we arrive I have several fun things planned. We are looking at maybe taking the kids to the beach because Nathan really wants to go to the beach and after our horrible experience at the Great Salt Lake I'd love for him to enjoy the beach. Other plans are the Disney outlet store and I made seating arrangements for a character dinner. I'm not sure if we are going to go to the dinner but its an option. Also from the top of our hotel we should be able to see the firworks Sunday night.

I've given my sister posting powers for the blog for the week. She may be posting a few pictures I send via cell phone and updating with any fun texts I send her.

I hope everyone has a good week while we are gone.

Pay it forward!!

Pay it forward!!

So this is how it works: The first 3 people to leave a comment on this post will receive a handmade gift from me during this year. When and what will be a surprise. There's a small catch... You knew there would be, didn't you? Post this on your blog then come back and leave a comment, telling me you're in. Fun, huh? Remember, only the first 3 comments receive a gift. Give it a try!

02/15/09

The countdown has begun. The kids have no concept of time so trying to explain to them how many more days until we leave for Disneyland is pointless. However everyday they ask how much longer to Disneyland. I've taken to explaining it as you have to go to bed and wake up 8 more times yet even that way seems to elude them. They are getting very excited though. I can not wait to take them. We leave on Saturday. Now I just have to motivate myself to clean the house and pack.

02/12/09

Here are the pictures of Don's and Nathans birthday cakes. My very talented sister Mary made the cakes. Nathan is still talking about his Mr. Potato Head cake. He really liked his cake.

So we leave for Disneyland in 9 days. I found an amazing deal and I was able to talk Don into going. I feel really bad that my sister won't be able to go with us but for the price difference between going now or in a few weeks it was worth leaving her here. We will be staying at the Disney Paradise Pier hotel. I also booked a character dinner for our first night. The kids are very very excited.

Zachary has rsv. It's actually been 2 years since he has caught this virus so I guess I've been very very lucky. However he gets very sick from it and it takes months to completely recover. Hopefully he'll recover quick so we won't have problems at Disneyland.

02/06/09

Today my oldest turned 6. I can not believe how old he is. I think back to the years when I was trying to get pregnant and I never thought I would ever have a 6 year old. Now all I can think about is how quickly the time has flown. So in honor of his sixth birthday I am going to post a few things about him.
Nathan's favorite color is purple. Why, because Jeff Wiggle wears purple.
Nathan loves to write little notes to everyone in the house.
Nathan is a very mellow go with the flow child 99% of the time.
Nathan does not like to wear denim jeans. He will only wear them if every other type of pants are dirty.
Nathan has a very big imagination.
He can act out Toy Story and Toy Story II without getting a word wrong.
He loves waffles for breakfast and is quite disappointed if he does not get them.
He always asks for another brother when asked what he wants for Christmas. Yet he complains about the brothers he already has most of the time.

My sister finally shared the little video she made of Noah at Christmas. However she missed the part where he was really upset and started stomping on the "stupid clothes, stupid gift, stupid Christmas" tantrum he threw.
