I know it sounds like a lot but it isn't. Phonics takes about 20-30 minutes and language arts usually takes about 20-30 minutes. Math takes him about 10 minutes.

Hey, this is Liz. We just read Mike Mulligan and His Steam Shovel the other day too. It's been a lot of fun homeschooling. Even though we are doing MFW, I have to supplement the reading part since Josh is reading far more than what they do in that curriculum. It sounds like Nathan is getting a nice well rounded education. Did you put your own curriculum together or are you using a specific set?

We use the k12 program through the state virtual academy. I, however, have discovered that there are some aspects of the program I really like and some I dislike. I went with the VA because Don was afraid Nathan would get behind if I just home schooled him. Now he complains about how much work Nathan is expected to do and know. I think he would be very open to me going another way next year. I supplement the k12 program with things I've found on my own. I really like Susan Bauer's well trained mind program.
